1 Samuel 30
Bible version
Commentary
1 Samuel 30 is a chapter that speaks to the power of God and His faithfulness to His people. In this chapter, we see David and his men returning to Ziklag after a battle to find that their city had been burned and their families taken captive. David and his men were greatly distressed and wept until they had no more strength to weep. In their distress, David sought the Lord and the Lord answered him. He gave David a plan to pursue the Amalekites and promised that he would recover all. David and his men followed the Lord's plan and were successful in their pursuit. They recovered all that had been taken from them and even more. This chapter is a reminder of the power of God and His faithfulness to His people. Even in the midst of distress and despair, God is still in control and He will provide a way out. We can trust in Him and His promises, knowing that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
